Introduction

These pages attempt to portray the stunning beauty of the Mawddach Estuary and to provide an insight into the surrounding area.

They are also for those who treasure the natural environment; and for those in search of the peace, tranquillity and inner fulfilment that close communion with the natural world can deliver...

    When from our better selves we have too long
    Been parted by the hurrying world, and droop,
    Sick of its business, of its pleasures tired,
    How gracious, how benign, is Solitude;
    How potent a mere image of her sway;

    from "The Prelude" by William Wordsworth
